The Bliss of Being a Hospice Volunteer

the-bliss-of-being-a-hospice-volunteer

Being a hospice volunteer is never easy, as you constantly give a portion of your time, energy, and effort to someone outside your family. Many volunteers join the good cause after being moved by the quality of hospice care their loved ones (or themselves) received. That holds true for our volunteers in California.

With our hospice care in Simi Valley, California, we extend opportunities to volunteers who wish to join us. Some of them have shared genuine benefits of doing so, including:

  • Personal and Spiritual Growth

Hospice volunteerism means building relationships with those you serve, which expands your insights about life. Some also claim to experience spiritual awareness and become an instrument of their faith.

  • Healing from Loss

Some individuals who have lost a loved one find peace by serving others facing the end of life by providing comfort, emotional support, and assistance with daily living activities.

  • A Renewed Sense of Purpose

Our volunteers can find meaning in their lives through service or giving back to the community. They bring compassion not only to the person they serve but also to the family by providing respite care in California, allowing family caregivers to take a break once in a while.

Indeed, volunteerism reflects who we are as a person. The joy of genuine service gives us harmony that we may never find elsewhere. If you see yourself in what we do at AMERICUS HOSPICE, INC., we welcome you to our team! As needed, we can also conduct further training in home care, grief counseling, and other types of care.
